Introduction

The venous drainage of the uterus is by the uterine veins, a branch of the internal Iliac vein and ovarian veins that drain into the ivc and left renal vein.

Veins of the Uterus Ovaries and Vagina

The venous drainage from the uterus is via the uterine veins which drain into the iliac venous system. The uterine vein collateralizes with the ovarian vein and there are also rich anastomoses between the left and right sides both anterior to and posterior to the uterus

The Major Outflow veins

The uterine veins drain mostly into anterior division of the internal iliac vein, which in turn drains into the common iliac vein, which subsequently drains into the inferior vena cava.

Venous Drainage

The uterine veins drain mostly into anterior division of the internal iliac vein, which in turn drains into the common iliac vein, which subsequently drains into the inferior vena cava. The uterine veins, vaginal veins, tubal veins and ovarian tributaries are intimately integrated and interconnected.
